To The Praise Of His Glory!

Have You Heard the Gospel?

This is a very important question. Have you heard the good (and bad) news that the Bible teaches about God, man, sin and salvation. Below you will find several important truths to help you better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

There is one God who is our sovereign Creator and therefore our righteous Judge.

› You alone are the Lord. You have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them and the heavenly host bows down before You (Nehemiah 9:6).

› Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with equity (Psalm 98:9).

We are created by God, in His image, to glorify and enjoy Him forever. But each person has sinned against God by disobeying His holy law and commandments. Therefore, because of our sin, we are God’s enemies and under His judgement and wrath.

› God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27).

› For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

› For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18).

Jesus Christ, the only Savior, intervened and bore the penalty of sin and the wrath of God through His substitutionary death on the cross. In other words, Jesus died in our place, He bore the wrath of God that we deserved to bear.

› And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

› All we like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him (Isaiah 53:6).

› He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36).

We are called to respond to this good news with repentance (turning away from our sin) and faith (trusting in Christ and His work on the cross to save us from God’s wrath).

› The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel (Mark 1:15).

› Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations . . . (Luke 24:46-47).

Consider one more question. Do you stand today before God as His enemy or His forgiven child? If you have never repented of your sins and trusted solely in Christ for forgiveness then you are God’s enemy. However, if you repent and trust your sins will be forgiven and you will stand before God today as His child. That is the promise of Scripture.

› But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12)
