In the summer of 2010 a team of men and women from Randolph Street Church traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to serve with the Micah Project boys home.
Our goals for this trip were simple:
- Be exposed to the vision and heart of the Micah Project staff.
- Serve in the trenches with them for a short time.
- Leave them more encouraged than before we arrived.

Here, John Bell shares the ministry of the Micah Project staff among the street children of Tegucigalpa.
Here, Becca Bell shares the ministry of the school dedicated to serving the children whose parents make their living in the enormous city dump.
One of the highlights of our trip was working with the Micah Project staff to build a house for an area family. Each family who receives a new house must own their own land, prepare the land for the new house, work with the team to build their own house, and serve others around them buy helping them build other new houses.
In the video below, notice this family's former dwelling, immediately beside the newly constructed house. How thankful each of us should be for where we live. Perhaps instead of asking, "Why don't we have more?" we should ask, "Why do I have so much when most people in the world have so little?"
We were grateful to hear from Michael Miller, the founder of the Micah Project. He shared with us (and you) how the Micah Project came into existence and what role Hurricane Mitch played in the story.
We greatly respect the long-term vision that the Micah Project has for its boys. They train them not only in the spiritual disciplines, but also in the discipline of hard work and providing for one's family. In this video, Michael Miller explains what roles college and trade school play in the training of the Micah boys.
