Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness … Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. (Titus 2:1-2, 6-8)

The men of Randolph Street Church find four components to their ministry, as do the ladies:

1) Titus 2 Fellowships: Multi-generational Men's Gatherings

On the second Saturday in January, March, May, September and November men of all ages meet at the Church facility for breakfast from 8:30-10:30am for a time designed to promote Biblical manhood and foster relationships. These fellowships are led by the staff pastors and occasionally involve outside speakers.

2) Ministry Focused Teams

These teams of men focus on Great Commission and/or Great Commandment ministries. They are informal and almost completely member-driven. For instance, we often have groups of handy-men who assist widows and other folks in need by doing various maintenance projects. Through these loosely-knit (and often temporary) ministry teams, permanent friendships are built. To volunteer for one of these teams, or to discuss a ministry idea, see our Executive Pastor, Matt Friend.

3) Informal Bible Studies and Prayer Gatherings

Growing out of the desire to promote Titus 2 male leadership, a group of men meet in the Welcome Center each Thursday morning at 7:00am for a time of Scripture reading and prayer. Various formats are employed; however, the men most often pick a portion of Scripture and take turns reading. An opportunity for prayer requests is given and then prayer continues until 8:00am, or until the men must leave for work.

4) Casual Conversation

The elders of Randolph Street Church purposely guard the Church calendar so as to provoke men to gather with other men to build gospel-based friendships. Some of the best conversations take place during the week over coffee, under the hood of a car, at a ball-field, or out on a jog. This is one reason we do not have a regular Sunday evening worship gathering - we want our men and women fellowshiping with others throughout the day, sometimes well into the evening.

Don't wait to be asked ... be proactive! Ask one of your brothers for a casual hour of fellowship.

5) Yearly Retreat

Each spring our men and boys enjoy an overnight retreat in the great outdoors. 2011 details coming soon.

New to us this year is the PLANT! Conference sponsored by Sovereign Grace Ministries, 9Marks, Acts 29, the PCA, and the SBC. Speakers include Mark Dever, C.J. Mahaney, Darrin Patrick and Dave Harvey. Our men are scheduled to leave early morning on Thursday, March 24th and return late Saturday evening, March 26th.
