Outreach Philosophy
God is growing his Church at an amazing pace. We are so thankful for the steady growth that we have seen at Randolph Street Church; however, we realize that God's Church is growing largely outside the affluent West.
Today and estimated 77,000 people will become new Christians around the world (International Bulletin of Missionary Research). That's 28 million new Christians this year. Ninety-one percent of these new Christians live in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In China, the most rapid Christian expansion within a country in the history of the church is taking place with an estimated 16,500 new Christians every day!
As Christ builds His Church (Matthew 16:18), we want Him to use us on this global mission, beginning in the greater Charleston area. Therefore, intentional evangelism is a weekly emphasis among the members of Randolph Street Church.
We want to be a church that is constantly about the work of evangelism. In other words, we want to be conspicuous in our Christianity before our friends, coworkers, family, and neighbors. As Jesus said, we don't want to keep the "lamp" hidden.
Our elders purposely guard the Church calender from excessive programs and events so as to free our members to get to know non-Christians (soccer teams, local schools, neighborhoods, public action committees, whatever). In order to be conspicuous in our Christianity we must be out there making friends.
We want to be urgently about the mission that Jesus gave his church, which we believe to be the proclamation of the gospel and the making of disciples. We want to be heavily engaged in that locally and globally.
