Prayer Meetings
We believe our God delights to answer prayer. Just as the biblical promise of provision is met through the command to work, God has ordained prayer as a means by which He answers the requests of His children.
We encourage our members to pray, both individually and corporately, in various ways:
Weekly Wednesday Evening Prayer Gathering
Each Wednesday evening a group of our people meet at the Church facility at 7:00pm for a time of Bible Study and prayer led by one of our staff pastors.
Weekly Thursday Morning Prayer Gathering
Each Thursday morning a group of our people meet at the Church facility at 7:00am for a time of informal Scripture reading and prayer led by one of our staff pastors.
Pre-Service Prayer Time
On Sundays, our worship service begins at 10:30am. However, around 10:20am one of our elders invites everyone in the auditorium to join in silent prayer where they are sitting (even while people continue to enter the auditorium). While we encourage our people to prepare their hearts days in advance of the worship gathering, those few minutes prior to the first song seem to unify us around the gospel of our great God.
Quarterly Late-Night Prayer Meetings
Care needs will always be among us. Also, it seems that we continually have significant decisions to make as a Church family. Therefore, our elders announce periodic late-night prayer meetings.
Member Care Groups
As our Church grows larger, we also desire it to grow smaller. It's important that each member be part of a Care Group where prayer requests can be shared at regular meetings, via phone chain, or Care-Group-specific prayer lists. Click here to learn more about our Member Care Groups.
Weekly Prayer Sheets
Each week our people are invited to submit prayer requests to our elders through the tear-off prayer sheet connected to the bulletin or by completing a prayer sheet at the rear of the auditorium. Prayer sheets can be confidentially given to a staff pastor or placed in the wooden box at the rear of the auditorium. You are also invited to submit a prayer request for our elders by clicking here.
First Wednesday Ministry Updates & Church-wide Prayer
The first Wednesday of each month is an important night for the Randolph Street Church family. At 5:30pm everyone is invited to a free meal in our Welcome Center, with a ministry update (and age-specific classes for our children and teens) to follow at 7:00pm. At the end of our ministry update in the auditorium, we enjoy a time of prayer usually as a large Church family and occasionally by breaking out into smaller prayer groups.
Men's & Women's Fellowships
Women usually meet for prayer and ministry discussion on the first Saturday mornings of February, April, October and December (10:00-Noon). Click here for more information on our women's ministry and prayer opportunities.
Men meet for a prayer breakfast on the second Saturday mornings of January, March, May, September and November (8:00-10:00am). Click here for more details about our men's prayer and ministry gatherings.
After-Service Prayer Opportunities
Each worship gathering ends with a time of singing in response to Scriptures we have heard, along with a benediction given by one of our staff pastors. After the benediction, as people begin to make their way to the Welcome Center for a time of refreshment and fellowship, several of our elders and ladies hang around the front of the auditorium to pray with anyone who asks. This would be our designated time of "invitation" in response to what was preaching or sung during the worship gathering.
