Expository Preaching
Randolph has a strong focus on communicating accurately and clearly the life-transforming truths of the Bible. Because we believe that God has spoken to us through His Word, much of our time together is given to the pursuit of understanding what God has said. We call this expository preaching and teaching. From children to adults we seek to train and disciple in the Word of God through the systematic study of Scripture.
2 Timothy 4:2 – Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
I know most of that falls on me, but I think it's useful to let prospective members know that it's a priority, and what we mean by it. I spend a big part of my week preparing for sermons, and my aim each week is to "expose" God's Word to the church--or perhaps more accurately, to "expose" them to God's Word. That's what we mean by "expositional preaching." I want to faithfully explain the point the biblical authors are trying to make, and then effectively apply it to our hearts.
