Sunday Support Teams

What are Sunday Support Teams?

Units of Church members, primarily coming from Member Care Groups, who serve the Church on Sundays in practical ways. These teams are described as “Sunday Support” because one should never consider it to be his/her primary or only ministry within the Church. Since we will be at the Church facility on Sundays anyway, it is a great time to join the rotation of servants. We want everyone carrying the load.

What are the personal expectations of a Sunday Support Team member?

(1)  Someone who is growing spiritually and is an example to others

In the Scriptures, character is elevated above skill. It is important for all members, especially those serving in public roles, to guard their private and public life in personal piety and love for Christ.

(2)  An active covenant member (and other non-members at the elders’ discretion)

What are the various Sunday Support Teams?

  • Greeter Team
  • Usher Team
  • Hospitality Team
  • Nursery Team
  • Media Team
  • Security Team

How does a person become involved in Sunday Support Team at Randolph Street Church?

(1)  Volunteer! – We encourage every Church member to sign up for as many Sunday support ministries as possible, if not all of them. At the beginning of each year every person is challenged to sign up for a Sunday support ministry.

(2)  To volunteer for a specific ministry, notify the deacon or elder in whose Member Care Group you belong. You may also notify a staff pastor of your desired position(s) by calling the Church office (304-342-3257) or by emailing us here.

(3)  Upon approval, on-the-job training is provided. The new volunteer will learn a Sunday support ministry by shadowing someone experienced in that particular area. When everyone feels he has been adequately trained, he will be placed on the rotating schedule and notification list of that particular ministry.
