Connected to the Home: The more we train our fathers and mothers, the more we are training our teens. Our desire is that each teen be pointed to a love for their Savior at home, and that our youth gatherings further enhance this passion for God.

Mission: As with our entire Church family, we desire to see our 6th-12th graders live to the praise of Christ's glory: in all things ... for all nations. This is lived out corporately as our teens:

  • Gather with the Church family for worship (Sundays at 10:30am)
  • Learn God's Word in their Training Hour classes (Sundays at 9:30am)
  • Serve their parents at home and others within their Church family (through organized opportunities)
  • Go with the gospel (mission trips, local outreaches)

Typical Monthly Schedule:

  • Typically, our teens meet at 7:00pm in Room 101 on the first Wednesday evening of each month, just after the all-Church meal at 5:30pm. This time of Bible Study, prayer, and ministry discussion sets the tone for the entire month of youth ministries.
  • During the spring, winter, and fall months, the teens scatter to visit shut-ins and senior saints on each second Wednesday. This time is usually followed by a rendezvous at a local Wendys or McDonalds to enjoy some fellowship together.
  • Likewise, every third Wednesday finds our teens engaged at Union Mission's Crossroads Men's Shelter. With a team of their parents and other adults, they prepare the meal each month at 3:00pm, serve the meal at 5:15pm, and lead a gospel service at 7:00pm. This has proven to be a good mentorship & training ground.

Summer 2011 Schedule: During the summer months our youth ministry schedule will be somewhat different.

Expected Fall 2011 Ministries (along with others that will emerge this summer):

  • 2nd Wednesday Shut-in/Senior Saint Visitation
  • 3rd Wednesday Union Mission Crossroads Men's Shelter Ministries
  • Global Missions Experience: Care Package to a Uganda Orphan Family
  • Adopt a Family for Christmas (via Union Mission Ministries)
